Welcome, All!
The (G)eneration Project hopes to build and expand a dialogue between people from all walks of life, in order to begin to recognize ourselves in each other and each other in ourselves: We are ALL immigrants.
“Conceived and produced in New York City on the traditional lands of the Lenape (Lenapehoking), Immigrants Are US: The (G)eneration Project acknowledges our Indigenous People as the original immigrants to the Americas who suffered a violent genocide by European settlers over the course of 400 years and persevered. We recognize and celebrate their current status as (G)-436 to (G)-600.”

“Immigrants Are US: The (G)eneration Project” workshop premiere at Immigrant Heritage Week, 2019
Today, more than 40 million people living in the U.S. were born in another country. In New York City, 38% of residents and 46% of the labor force are foreign-born. If we recognize each other by the number of generations (G) we have been in this country: G-0’s are born elsewhere, G-1’s are first-generation born here, G-6’s are sixth-generation born here and so on, then our similarities will far outweigh our differences.

Blog posts and announcements
As the Covid-19 pandemic rolls through our planet, it brings out the best in us, our resilience and dedication to each other. Seeing the faces and hearing the voices of immigrants in the front lines saving lives and providing essential services are a call to action for artists to dream about a future where we stand, live and work together for the betterment of all.
